Akuma Helmets
Check out Akuma Helmets new
tint on demand technology at:
www.akumahelmets.com.
Now you can change from a clear
to a tinted visor by simply touching
a button! The Velocity helmet will
also be out soon! It has been
exciting to work with Akuma
helmets to help design a helmet
for women riders. I wanted the
helmet to portray my love for
speed from a woman's point of
view, and I think they did just that.
:: Jennifer Robertson Racing :: Breaking Barriers
This year we wanted to
defend my title as the fastest
female to go down the TX
Mile, go faster than 216
MPH, and get our "baby
turbo" into the 220 MPH
range. The weather was
spectacular and the bike
was tuned perfectly...thanks
to Johnny Cheese. I had no
problem getting the bike
over 200 MPH. We went
213 MPH on the 1st pass,

made some minor adjustments and went back out to go 217 MPH. The next pass I
had to shut the bike down early...apparently I rolled through some grease at about 200
MPH and the bike didn't take it well (neither did I). I decided to call it a day and try
again in the morning. The next morning was beautiful, and I went 219 MPH searching
for 7th gear (which doesn't exist). At this point I knew we were going to hit our goal of
220 MPH if I could just get a clean pass. The next pass I spun the tire all the way
through 3rd gear, but I managed to hit my other shift points perfectly (and not search
for 7th gear). After getting the bike slowed down (which is rather challenging) I was
excited to see 222 MPH on the GPS. I was even more ecstatic when my time slip
matched the GPS with a time of 222.555 MPH. After lunch I decided to go back out
and try to get a clean pass to see if I could improve my time. Unfortunately, the wind
had picked up a little by this time, and due to the tire slippage I was unable to hit my
shift points cleanly, but I backed up my time with another 222 MPH run!
